“Thanks.” I quickly said as I got my crispy fresh pretzel from the counter. I didn’t bother to understand what the cashier said, she probably just told me to come again anyway.

As I was looking for a place to sit and enjoy my snack, I noticed it was raining, and real hard too. I’m gonna get deaf with what I’m doing. I can’t hear a thing with these large earphones blaring in my ears, not that I mind or anything.

I sat near the window, where I can clearly see the droplets of rain slide down the glass window beside me, where I can just stare at them fall from the sky above. The rain, for some unknown reason soothes me.

“Aish, stupid place for being so ‘people-attractive’” I mused under my breath. I never did like crowded places. I prefer places where I can enjoy a meal in peace. Well, at least I can finally eat my delicious pretzel.

My eyes widened in shock as I dropped the sweet twisted bread in my hand. They were sweet, and that was the problem. I hate sweets. As pessimistic as that sounds, I do, I really really DO.

“I didn’t order th---“ I stood up furious. I didn’t get to continue what I was about to say though as someone interrupted.

“the cinnamon sugar pretzel?” Exactly. How did she know?

“Yeah, that was mine. I tried calling you but you seemed busy, plus you couldn’t hear me so…” I honestly didn’t understand most of the things she said as I was too dazed by her. She was more than pretty, she was beautiful, stunning even.

“Uh, hello?” She questioned. I was probably staring too much.

“Come on, let me repay you the pretzel.”

And that was how I realized why I liked the rain. That rainy day made me meet the warm and sweet person named Hazel.
